Yellow Elk Law & Technology launches with a focus on AI in the legal sector

An AI tool that doesn't know the business's own contracts and cases is, in practice, just a chatbot with a good grasp of language.

‍Daniel Lönnberg and Martin Wass are launching Yellow Elk Law & Technology AB — that helps law firms and in-house legal departments get more out of AI systems, without handing over control of their own data.

The situation:
AI tools for lawyers are launching at pace. But the value only appears once the systems can work with the organisation's own contracts, matters and previous work.

What we do:
Yellow Elk Law & Technology advises on choice of systems and on whether to buy off the shelf or build in-house. We build the connections between data, functions and systems, and we do it so that the material and the business-critical functions stay with the client. That makes it possible to switch model or vendor later on without rebuilding the operation.

The assignment doesn't stop at the technology. It extends to making sure the solution is actually used and delivers measurable effects in everyday work.

Who we are:
Daniel Lönnberg is a lawyer and joins from the role of Head of Data & Innovation at,  Familjens jurist, Sweden's largest family law firm, where he was responsible for AI development in an organisation of 280 lawyers. Martin Wass is an AI architect with a background in senior roles in machine learning and AI. They have worked together on AI in legal practice since 2024.
